Bio-Diesel

Bio-diesel is usually produced from virgin edible oil or waste oil with minimum contamination of water. This project design and build a unique bio-diesel processor which is suitable for waste oil that is highly contaminated with water/ animal fats.
Currently this multidisciplinary project involved students from various disciplines for the following areas:
CLS : studying and optimising the detail process of bio-diesel reaction
SMAE : design and build the mechanical system for the processor
SEEE : design and build the electrical system for the processor/ sensors/ heaters/ mixers
SB : Exploring the business potential of such a processor.
